A stunning Chinese porcelain octagonal charger from the Kangxi period (1662–1722), available through Hutton-Clarke Antiques. This elegant piece exemplifies the refined craftsmanship of the Qing Dynasty, featuring a hand-painted cobalt blue underglaze design.
The central motif depicts a serene landscape with a pagoda, trees, mountains, and small boats set against a backdrop of water, evoking a sense of peace and harmony. Surrounding this is a beautifully intricate border of floral and geometric patterns, a hallmark of Kangxi-era artistry.
While the charger is in good condition overall, it does feature a hairline crack, which does not diminish its decorative charm or historical significance. Pieces like this were traditionally used as statement decorations or for serving on special occasions, making it a timeless addition to any collection.
