This is an antique 17th-century Welsh oak Deuddarn cupboard, offered for sale by Hutton-Clarke Antiques. A fine example of Welsh craftsmanship, it features a moulded cornice with turned finials, giving it a distinguished presence. The upper section has three shaped, moulded-edge panel doors, opening to reveal a spacious storage compartment with fitted drawers. The lower section consists of three drawers above a moulded-edge panel, flanked by two doors open to additional storage. The cupboard stands proudly on its original block feet and boasts fabulous panelled sides. With an incredible original colour and patination, this Deuddarn has a warm, rich tone that highlights the quality of the oak. Though it has replacement handles, they complement the piece without detracting from its historical charm. The cupboard also separated into two halves for easier transportation. It is a truly remarkable piece that would bring character and elegance to any interior.
